Objectives

As described by the bylaws, the Graduate Program in Music of UFBA (PPGMUS-UFBA), based in the School of Music (EMUs), aims to train qualified professionals to work in music, Especially for the development of activities related to teaching, artistic, scientific, social and technological development in the area.

The courses (master's and doctoral degrees) in their respective areas of concentration (Composition, Musical Education, Ethnomusicology, Musical Execution and Musicology) will have the goals, in general terms:

• Empower the student to understand and critically interfere in the development process of the knowledge area in which it operates;
• Empower the student to produce, promote, use, disseminate, and critically evaluate the processes that generate knowledge in music.
